Kalanjiyam to approach film unions against Anjali
Director Kalanjiyam is now planning to approach the various bodies in Kollywood requesting them to take action against actress Anjali who failed to turn up for his film shoot. The actress was supposed to shoot for the film Oor Suttri Puranam on April 24. Speaking to CT, Kalanjiyam said, "Anjali has already shot for the film for 15 days in March and we were supposed to begin the second schedule yesterday. However, she did not turn up. Since this is a heroine-centric film, I cannot shoot scenes without her, and so, I have cancelled the shoot. I have tried reaching her but she continues to remain inaccessible."
The director, who had earlier told us that he had invested 40 lakh in the film, added that he will be approaching the film unions in Kollywood to sort out this issue. "I do not want to file a case in the court straight away as we have various bodies in the industry to protect filmmakers. I will be lodging a complaint with the Tamil Film Producers' Council, the Director's Union and the NadigarSangam and request them to take appropriate action," he added. The actress shot last week for the Telugu remake of Bol Bachchan with Venkatesh.
